Neatly nestled between rolling hills next to the Mississippi River, you can find a small paradise for horse and rider. Our stable specializes in full service long term boarding.  The stables' facilities include an indoor arena (60' X 120') , scenic riding trials, and short term boarding for vacationers and guests who wish to bring their own horses.  (Sorry, no horse rentals or guided trail rides.)

While visiting, you can enjoy an excellent home cooked meal at our Hillside Stables Restaurant, offering German/American cuisine in a friendly old world atmosphere. Our steaks are cut by hand and grilled to perfection, plus we offer a large selection of fish, shrimp, poultry and pork. You can also relax and enjoy the countryside in our Hillside Stables Inn, a tastefully decorated two bedroom suite overlooking the pastures and stables.

Be sure to stop by and visit with your hosts: Volker & Carol. Volker, an avid pilot and retired German F4 jet jockey, would love to show you his 900' private grass runway, hangar and powered parachute. Carol, on the other hand, is the horse and restaurant person and would proudly give you a tour through the stables or talk recipes and cooking in the "Biergarten".
